People app. The People app lets you see and interact with all your contacts in one place. When you add an account to the People app, your contacts from your account will be automatically added to the People app. You can add other accounts to the People app, including your social networks (such as Facebook and Twitter) and email accounts. When you add an account, we tell you what data the People app can import or sync with the particular service and let you choose what you want to add. Other apps you install may also sync data to the People app, including providing additional details to existing contacts. When you view a contact in the People app, information about your recent interactions with the contact (such as emails and calendar events, including from apps that the People app syncs data from) will be retrieved and displayed to you. You can remove an account from the People app at any time.

Research also shows that children aged 0-2 should not watch media or use technology alone. Children age 12-24 months can learn from videos if parents co-view material with them and use the video as a learning tool to build language skills.36 Some studies have shown that children in this age range can learn from videos, but do not retain information as long as comparison groups who learned the same material using books with their parents did.37 When video chatting, children under 16 months show no learning gains,38 though there may be a benefit in promoting bonding when physical distance limits frequent in-person interactions.


Reading stories with children introduces them to the complex nature of language and helps them in acquiring important language skills. However, the type of books read to children contributes to the depth of their learning. Parents should try to include a variety of books in their read aloud experience. Different types of genre books are associated with different amounts and types of language and each will encourage a different dialog or conversation with children. Following is a brief discussion of various genre and types of books that should be offered to young children:Picture StorybooksText and illustrations tell the story in picture story books. This type of book is especially appropriate for young children because the colorful and clear illustrations and artwork support a simple story line. The illustrations often provide additional information not covered in the text. Rhyming stories and books with repeated patterned sounds are particularly interesting to children. Creative artwork is often used to illustrate and bring new interest to the alphabet. Some alphabet books are themed and use familiar and interesting objects to highlight the alphabet such as fruits, vegetables, colors, animals, the ocean, or flowers.Suggested Reading:So Many Bunnies by Rick WaltonThe Turn-Around, Upside-Down Alphabet Book by Lisa Campbell ErnstCounting BooksCounting books come in all sizes and shapes. Beginning counting books often provide fun illustrations of everyday items and objects that feature the numbers from 1-5 or 1-10. More elaborate counting books count to one hundred or a thousand and use a theme in presenting their information. Counting books for young children are important because they introduce the language associated with numbers. They also help preschoolers begin to understand the concept that numbers are symbols for counting, just as letters are symbols for sounds and word.Suggested Reading:The Icky Bug Counting Book by Jerry PallottaHow Do Dinosaurs Count to Ten? by Jane YolenRhyming BooksRhyming storybooks are a great choice for young children. They benefit from hearing rhyming language and repetitive sounds. This is a great way to mix things up a bit. Have students create a stack of typical responses, including agree/disagree, true/false, yes/no, greater than/less than, multiple-choice options, and everyday emotions. After students have created their response cards, you can have them use them to respond in various settings. For example, while reading a book together as a class, you may pause and ask your students what they think the character is feeling right now. The students then select one of the everyday emotion cards from their personal stack of cards and lift it up to answer the question.
